Hello!? I kept trying to call my mom or dad, but the cellphone wouldn't take all the digits. Where's my cellphone, anyway?!

But then I saw that it connects automatically to some sort of...social network? So I'm like...video chatting with you, whoever you are, right?

Please answer? I'm a bit lost.

Ah, that's right! I found this pokémon with me while I was being shoved out of a house by someone who said she was my mom, but was clearly not. But last I checked, pokémon weren't real? So....I don't get it.

Last I remember is being with Tadase-kun and Ikuto and--- [the feed cuts off]

I'd say that it has to be around a year and a half or so by now. I've heard of some people who have been here almost since people started showing up here.

Actually, on second thought, you might want to see if there's anyone else who can travel with you. Unless you get lucky with metronome or your Togepi was bred to have a reliable attacking move, it's a bit difficult to fight off any wild pokémon with one.

Oh! Yeah, I've actually made a friend recently and it looks like we will be traveling together.

[Hikari's interrupted at this point by a rather large white bird thing with markings that might look familiar to you Amu, since they're on Togepi's shell.

[And then Togekiss starts nudging at the pokégear, trying to get a look at the screen.]

I think he heard me say you had a Togepi.

Togekiss! Kisskiss!

Oh! Hello there! [She waves at the Togekiss] Though, I guess you're more interested in this one here.

[She lefts the little Togepi in her arms a bit so she's in better view of the 'gear. The little Togepi starts flailing her little arms a bit, happily chirping]

So I guess Togekiss is what Togepi evolves into, right?

Kiss!

[Wow, yep, Togekiss is sure happy to see that Togepi. Hikari can't help but giggle at it.]

Yeah, it is. Eventually, anyway. Togepi evolves into a pokémon called Togetic first, then can evolve into Togekiss when you use a Shiny Stone on it.

... Or in my case when he decides to go get a Shiny Stone and use it on himself. That day wasn't really fun.

[Amu is now laughing, herself. Togepi is quite excited and Amu is very amused.]

Sounds like a handful. Makes me wish I'd paid more attention to the pokémon in my world but oh well.

Yeah. He was sitting on the shelf in Goldenrod City's department store when he used the stone... and grew a meter taller and gained about thirty five kilograms in weight.

The shelf actually collapsed.

It would've been easier if he just asked me to buy the stone, or hovered around it until I got the hint.

Ah, well.. They're real..but. Well in my world pokémon exist a game by the same name. And they made a show for it, too! I never really paid attention to it, but it was cute. [shrug]

They're...fictional.

[Hikari blinks, before nodding.]

Oh. I guess if it was the same back in my world, I never really noticed, somehow.

But well, that kinda makes sense. This place really seems to run on, well, video game logic a lot of the time.

Hm. That actually surprises me more than it should. I should've expected that to be honest, but I wasn't. [laugh]

But I can see why!

[She giggles.]

For one thing, the nurses at the pokémon centers all look the same and have the same name. Same thing with most of the police officers here too...

Oh! That'd be umm... Nurse Joy and Officer...uh...Jenny, right?
